Adi's work as a performer is influenced by the medium of film, spoken word and expression through movement. It is informed by different performance practices and visual means to express a variety of themes. These include the things that feed our fears and hopes and their effects on our behaviour; the elements which define our identities and “rules” of empathy. She explores what motivates people’s actions, from the mundane to the extraordinary, using them as stimuli to investigate their origins and the impact they have on our lives. In her perfomative work she moves from the naïve and the fantastical to the visceral and the darkness of life’s harsh realities. While she is influenced by text-based theatre and physical-devised performance, she is equally at home in live art and experimental performance. Although the two forms tend to draw different audiences, she instinctively cross these disciplines and continues to investigate this divide further.
